Longlin
隆林牛
(most common name)
(local/other name):
• Guixi
The Longlin, found in the Baise district of Guangxi province, was considered a variety of the Panjiang (along with the Guanling and Wenshan).
However, because microsatellite studies appear to show that the Guanling and Longlin are distinct from each other — whether the Longlin should be grouped with the Panjiang was questioned. So, now the Longlin has been grouped with:
• Ji’an
• Wannan
• Weizhou
• Xuwen
The Longlin has both taurine and zebu mtDNA.
In 2004, the Longlin cattle population was 130,264.
NOTE: As of 2021, there is no listing in DAD-IS for the Longlin.
