The Mocho Nacional is a dual-purpose breed (meat and milk) that was officially started in Nova Odessa, São Paulo State, in 1911.
Mocho Nacional cows are known for their excellent maternal abilities and good fertility rate. The bulls have a very strong libido.
The Mocho Nacional are rustic with proven longevity and well adapted to their local conditions. They are small to medium in body size with good conformation.
It is believed that the Mocho Nacional contributed to the develoment of the Tabapua. The term Carazebú is used when either the Mocho Nacional or the Caracu is crossed with zebu.
