Change the import settings in iTunes to convert your audio for Scratch projects.
Scratch will accept:
• mp3
• WAV (uncompressed)
• AIFF
• AU (8-bits or 16-bits, but not 24-bits per sample)
Go to:
iTunes - Preferences - Advanced - Importing
Import Using: MP3 Encoder
Setting: Good Quality (128 kbps)
– or – select your track and convert to MP3:
Advanced - Convert selection to MP3
iTunes then converts your selection and adds it to your library.
⌘R will locate the file for you in a separate window.
You can also drag the MP3 file from iTunes and then drop it onto your desktop or into your project folder and then import it from there for use in Scratch.
iTunes 11.04 uses the following:
iTunes - Preferences - Advanced - Import Settings
Import Using: MP3 Encoder
Setting: you decide what you want
– or – select your track and convert to MP3:
iTunes - File - Create New Version - Create MP3 Version
