Waffles: Buttermilk

INGREDIENTS

BOWL (whisked together):
3/4 cup and 1.5 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
cinnamon (optional)
nutmeg (optional)

PREP (whisked together):
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
3 tbsp canola oil

PREPARATION

1. Add PREP into BOWL. Fold until just mixed; it will be lumpy.

2. Make waffles.

NOTE If using yoghurt instead of buttermilk:
2/3 cup yoghurt
1/3 cup milk

NOTE If using berries, only add 1/2 cup after mostly mixed.

NOTE If making savory, after mostly mixed, add:
6 chives, chopped
3 strips Morning Star Veggie Bacon, diced and then cooked for 1 minute
crushed red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)
minced jalapeño, to taste (optional)
