Tofu: Baked

INGREDIENTS

1 (14 or 16-ounce) package firm or extra-firm tofu, drained and cut into 3/4 or 1-inch cubes
2 tbsp cornstarch

MEDIUM BOWL (whisked together):
2 tbsp tamari sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder

PREPARATION

1. Heat oven to 400ºF and lightly oil a metal baking sheet.

2. Place tofu in MEDIUM BOWL and toss until evenly coated. Sprinkle cornstarch over and toss until no longer powdery.

3. Arrange in one layer on baking sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until browned and crispy on the edges (16 minutes if using half oven convection). Use a thin metal spatula to flip halfway through.

4. Allow to cool for about 3 minutes before eating as they will be very hot.

NOTE Use immediately or cool completely and store in airtight container in fridge (5 days max).
