Fake Cave Fire for The Invention of Popcorn:
Fake Cave Fire

Our Fake Cave Fire from the Original Production:
Fake Fire

Made from foam board cut with an X-ACTO knife (#2 blade) and colored with markers and a black Sharpie.

REMEMBER: You have to be careful when you use paint on foam board because it can warp; how much it warps depends on how messy your paint is. Use markers, instead.

The bottom of an empty box was glued to the back of the fire so that the interior of the box could be used to hold the pan and popcorn props while onstage and offstage in the wings. Also, the box was a good way to carry the fire around without breaking the flame tips or getting it covered with dirty fingerprints.
