stage direction: Papà exits.
HANSEL
Povera noi.
Poor us.
GRETEL
Ho del pane.
I have some bread.
stage direction: Gretel drops crumbs.
stage direction: Birds enter and eat the crumbs.
GRETEL
Ho paura.
I have fear.
stage direction: Hansel points.
HANSEL
Che bella casa.
What a beautiful house.
NARRATOR
È una casa di biscotti e cioccolati.
It is a house of cookies and chocolates.
stage direction: Hansel and Gretel start eating the house.
GRETEL
Panna!
Cream!
HANSEL
Canditi!
Candies!
stage direction: Strega opens the door.
STREGA
Entrate, brutti bambini!
You all enter, ugly children!
stage direction: Strega grabs them both.
NARRATOR
È una strega!
It is a witch!
STREGA
Primo mangio Hansel, poi Gretel!
First I eat Hansel, then Gretel!
stage direction: Strega starts a fire.
stage direction: Gretel pushes Strega into fire.
GRETEL
Entra, brutta stregga!
You enter, ugly witch!
HANSEL
Brava! Scappiamo!
Good job! We escape!
