REPORTER
Good evening. It’s the year 1999 and we are here today talking with Emon Stuart, a student at the Kinder Elementary School. Tell us what’s been happening, Emon.
EMON
Well, I don’t know when it started but now it’s completely out of hand. I can’t go anywhere without being touched.
REPORTER
I understand your teachers literally have to place you in a fenced area on the playground.
EMON
Yes, and it’s really hard to play sports that way, let me tell you. I usually end up sitting on the ground, right in the middle, drawing chalk figures on the pavement.
REPORTER
Why in the middle?
EMON
Because some of the kids find sticks and use them to get at me through the fence. I’m safest in the middle.
REPORTER
That’s terrible. Can’t you switch schools?
EMON
This is my fourth one in the last six months.
REPORTER
You mean it’s everywhere?
EMON
Yeah, apparently it is. I guess I’ll just have to wait for this game to die down.
REPORTER
Ladies and gentlemen, you’ve heard it here first on Investigative Retorts. The strange and sad fate of one student, Emon Stuart, the victim of a game called Poke Emon.
