Heugu 한우 -cow- Korea

Heugu
한우
(most common name)

(transboundary/brand name):
Hanwoo

The Heugu is an indigenous variety of the Hanwoo. The coat is dark brown with a mostly black face.

The Heugu can be found mainly in the provinces of Gangwon and Chungcheong.

The Heugu may or may not also be named the ‘Korean Black’ depending on the reference source. DAD-IS lists it as a separate breed and lists the ‘Korean Black’ as another name for Jeju Black Cattle.
