The Czech Black Pied appears to have been renamed the Holstynsky (Holstein). A herdbook was established in 1990 and it is the second most important dairy breed in the Czech Republic.
The original Czech Black Pied (Nižinne černostrakate in Czech) began as a Black Pied Lowland breed but is now considered an imported population due to the continual addition of:
• Danish Black Pieds
• Dutch Friesians
• German Black Pieds
