

Brazilian Crioulo
(most common name in English)
The Brazilian Crioulo consists of several breeds and varieties that are divided into two regional types (most have not survived):
• Crioulo nordestino (Northern Criollo) - found north of latitude 18–20°S (south of the equator)
• Crioulo do Sul (Southern Crioulo) - found south of of latitude 18–20°S (south of the equator)
Varieties that have survived include:
• Caracu (in the south)
• Curraleiro (in the north)
