The idea was to focus on one booth in a restaurant and depict what occurred during the shift of one waiter.
We were able to finagle The Friendly Toast (a very popular restaurant in Portsmouth, NH) to allow us on its premises. Because we couldn't interfere with the restaurant's operation, the shoot took place from 3am to 7am on one day – and one day only.
Little kids don't like to be up at that hour, and frankly, neither do the big kids. Seven parents volunteered as actors along with the crew.
