The Hazake is a Turano-Mongolian breed.
The Hazake is found in the Tian Shan Mountains and the upland plains of northwest Xinjiang and is believed to have been indigenous since the 18th century.
Turano-Mongolian, in reference to cattle, refers to a distinctive skull formation that includes:
• a wedge-shaped skull
• a depression on the frontal bone
• a narrow crown
• horns growing straight-up
