The Krishna Valley was developed using a local desi breed and crossbreeding with a mix of:
• Mysore zebu blood
Depending on reference source, the Krishna Valley is categorized as belonging to the Grey-White Shorthorned Zebu group (Felius) or the Mysore Zebu group (Mason).
If the focus is their horns, then the Mysore Zebu group would be the choice with the percentage of Kankrej and Mysore blood being greater.
If focusing on their body shape, then placing the Krishna Valley in the Grey-White Shorthorned Zebu group would be the choice with the percentage of Ongole blood being greater.
Since the Krishna Valley is not a fixed composite, it could go either way depending on the admixture of the above mentioned breeds.
