• Podolica italiana
• Razza Podolica italiana
The Apulian Podolian is thought to be influenced by the importation of East European Podolian cattle into Italy starting in the 14th century.
There are four different strains:
• the Pugliese (Podolica Pugliese) from Puglia
• the Lucanian (Podolica Lucana) from Basilicata
• the Calabrian (Podolica Calabrese) from Calabria
Podolian cattle breeds have calves born with a fawn to reddish coat that turns grey or white after about five months of maturing.
