The Adwa is a small East African zebu with a prominent hump and short to medium horns. Adwa cattle can be found in the central zone of the Tigray region in and around Adwa.
Adwa females usually have thin, medium sized horns with pointed ends that mostly turn upwards. Adwa bulls have thicker, shorter horns.
The Adwa belongs to the Abyssinian Shorthorned Zebu cattle group.
