The Alpine Hérens (aka French Hérens; La race Alpine Hérensin French) originates from the Hérens and is found in the department of Haute-Savoie, France – which is in the foothills of Mont Blanc.
Mont Blanc was the site of the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Sadly, no cows are known to have officially participated in any of the sporting events (other than the occasionally nudged spectator – which for cows can be a sport unto itself).
