The Guzerat is the USA version of the Kankrej of India. Here's the story - a Kankrej is a bovine from the state of Gujarat in India. When they exported Kankrej bovines to the USA and Brazil, their name was changed to Guzerat and Guzerá respectively. (Probably because that's what was stamped on the box. <grin>) |
